Phillips Chain of Lakes Tri

Who we are...

A group of Phillips residents have got together to form a triathlon. Sounds simple but it has been a long journey to this point. We are a group of 5 that are very excited to introduce this event to Phillips. We hope you can join us this summer and every summer for the Phillips Chain of Lakes Tri.

Adam Speers–Volunteer Coordinator Adam is a local Realtor with Birchland Realty in Phillips. Adam feels that “Phillips is a fantastic small Northwoods community that is successful because of it’s citizens and all that volunteer.

Annie Knudson Registration/Timing Coordinator– Phillips Community Pool Aquatic Director. Annie loves everything to with outdoor recreation, especially walking with husband Eric and her dogs. 

Sue Mergen-Publicity Coordinator. Sue is a swim team coach and editor of a newspaper. In her spare time she loves to swim and spend time  outdoors with her family.

Tim Popp-Course Director Tim is a retired teacher and Phillips Area Aquatic Foundation board member. Tim has been involved with sports for many years. and he feels that people living a healthy lifestyle (participating in athletics and exercise) is good not only for them, but the community as well.

Wally Purdun-Sponsor Coordinator Resident of Phillips, likes to bike and run. Wally and his company have been involved in many race events including the American Birkenbeiner and the Whistle Stop race in Ashland, WI.

The purpose of this event is to develop a competition that will flourish in years to come while benefiting organizations in Price County communities that are in need of funding.
