A group of Phillips residents have gotten together to form a triathalon. Sounds simple, but it has been a long journey to this point. We are a group of five that are very excited to introduce this event to Phillips. We hope you can join us this summer and every summer for the Phillips Chain of Lakes Tri.

Adam Speer - Volunteer Coordinator: Adam is a local realtor with Birchland Realty in Phillips. Adam feels that “Phillips is a fantastic small Northwoods community that is successful because of its citizens and all that volunteer."

Annie Knudson - Registration/Timing Coordinator: Annie is the Aquatic Director at the Phillips Community Pool. She loves everything to do with outdoor recreation, especially enjoying it with her husband and their two children.

Sue Mergen - Publicity Coordinator: Sue is the director of sales for two local newspapers. In her spare time Sue likes to ski, swim, bike and spend time with her family and two dogs.

Tim Popp - Course Director: Tim is a retired teacher and Phillips Area Aquatic Foundation board member. Tim has been involved with sports for many years and feels that people living a healthy lifestyle (participating in athletics and exercise) is good not only for them, but the community as well.

Wally Purdun - Coordinator: Wally is a resident of Randolph, WI who helped found the race. Wally's company has recently relocated him to the southern end of the state but he still remains dedicated to the Phillips Chain of Lake Triathlon and now provides support from afar. Wally brings many years of experience to the committee and is excited to be a part of such a dynamic group of individuals.

The purpose of this event is to develop a competition that will flourish in years to come while benefiting organizations in Price County communities that are in need of funding. If you have any questions, please contact us for more information. We can’t wait to see you this summer!
